A |     Veteran actor Dharmendra sadly passed away at the age of 89 after battling an age-related illness. He breathed his last at his residence. He was admitted to Breach Candy hospital earlier this month due to respiratory complications. While he was admitted to the hospital from October 31, 2025, he was later discharged and kept under observation at home. They visited the crematorium and supported the Deol family through the difficult time. Many celebrities, including Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Sushmita Sen and more shared heartfelt tributes for the Sholay star. Now, Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt have shared their condolences on social media as well.Taking to Instagram, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, "Rest in Peace Dharam ji. You were nothing short of a father figure to me… thank u for showering me with blessings and love the way you did. An inconsolable and irreplaceable loss to not just his family, but to cinema and film lovers world over. You are immortal… and your soul will live through your films and your beautiful family forever. Love you always." Alongside the note, SRK shared a heartfelt click where the veteran actor is embracing him in a side hug.Alia Bhatt shared a screengrab from her movie Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, where she is seen chatting with Dharmendra. Alia penned, "A legend who lit up every frame... and every heart. You will be missed, Dharam ji [white heart emoticon]."          Dharmendra's family members, including Hema Malini, Esha Deol, grandsons Rajveer Deol and Karan Deol were also present at the crematorium. Beyond his legendary on-screen presence, he was a devoted father and grandfather. A couple of years ago, in a conversation with Filmfare, Dharmendra and Hema Malini's daughter Esha Deol reflected on the profound influence her father has had on her.     Esha has two daughters, Radhya and Miraya. Opening up about how her parents are as grandparents, she shared, "They’re so adorable. They spoil the kids and enjoy spending time with them when I am at work or when they babysit. Mama and Papa are excellent babysitters."          The actress also forayed into the action genre with Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega and Rudra: The Edge of Darkness. It goes without saying that the actress liked this genre and her biggest inspiration was her father, also known as the He-Man of Bollywood. Talking about the same, Esha continued, "I grew up with Dharmendra, also known as the He Man. I’ve seen all of his films. But aside from that, I’ve always been an athlete. I’m also a big fan of Sylvester Stallone. The only thing I haven’t done is get his name and photo tattooed on my hand. So I enjoy watching these manly men on screen."     Esha Deol is Dharmendra's daughter with Hema Malini. The couple also have another daughter, Ahana Deol. The actor also had four children with his first wife, Prakash Kaur - actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, and two daughters Vijeta and Ajeeta.          Dharmendra passed away on November 24 at the age of 89 at his residence in Juhu. He will be posthumously seen in the film Ikkis, starring Amitabh Bachchan's grandson, Agastya Nanda in the lead.
